Charles W. “Chick” Baum
Charles W. “Chick” Baum, 74, of South Buffalo Township passed away Wednesday while in the company of family at Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot.
Chick was born in New Kensington, March 10, 1943. He was the son of the late Rose E. (Richards) and Melvin C. Baum. He was a past member of United Presbyterian Church of Freeport.
Chick was a 1961 graduate of Ken High. He then enrolled and graduated from New Kensington Commercial College, where he received his degree in accounting. He was employed at Oberg Industries for 43 years, retiring in 2009. Chick worked as a supervisor in estimating and quotation and had worked in sales.
He was a member of F&AM Armstrong Lodge 239 in Freeport and Gourgas Lodge of Perfection in Pittsburgh.
Chick enjoyed Corvettes, gardening, camping, his cat “Moochie” and dinners with his family and friends.
Charles is survived by his wonderful wife of 51 years, June (Bozich) Baum; their two sons, Mark D. Baum of South Buffalo Township and Brad and Kathleen Baum of North Huntington.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Jack E. Baum.
