Daniel C. Barger

Daniel C. Barger, 84, of Emlenton passed away Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 27, 1933, in Petrolia, the son of Harry S. and Florence B. McGinnis Barger.

Daniel graduated from Fairview Township High School in 1952 and honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He worked at Witco for 42 years, retiring in October of 1994. In his younger years, he loved dancing and later liked bowling and watching NASCAR. Daniel also enjoyed spending time at the Emlenton Plaza, drinking coffee and socializing.

His memory will be cherished by his sons Timothy D. Barger, and his wife Marta, of Chicora and Charles R. Barger, and his wife Jolynn, of Knox; daughters Patricia L. Pilzak of Sharpsburg and Vicky L. McCord, and her husband Jim, of Parker; grandchildren Katrina, Tyler, Kyle, Reese, Kylie, Elaina, Andrew, Sara and Mark; and great-grandchildren Nico and Ashley.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Ashley McCord; brothers Harry and Paul Barger; and sister Alice Mae Snyder.

BARGER — Relatives and friends of Daniel C. Barger, who died Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 102 S. Argyle St., Petrolia.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Daniel's honor to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.Arrangements are being handled by Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services.To express a condolence to Daniel's family, visit www.bauerhillisfuneral.com.
