Collin Joseph Ridley

Collin Joseph Ridley, 41, of Slippery Rock passed away on Monday following a long illness.

He was born in Grove City, June 16, 1976, to Joseph Wallas Ridley and Patricia Susan Fox Ridley.

As a young boy, Collin enjoyed building model airplanes and being active in scouting. He had rheumatoid arthritis since the age of 11.

In 1994, Collin graduated from Slippery Rock High School and then attended Butler County Community College and Slippery Rock University. He really enjoyed working at Instron Corporation in Grove City.

He loved to read and had an interest in the history of Christianity. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was always available to help others even if he was having a bad day.

He attended Zion Baptist Church and later Harmony Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Harrisville. He was a believer in Jesus Christ as his personal savior.

Survivors include his parents at home; his sister, Erin R. Plakidas of Slippery Rock; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

RIDLEY — The family of Collin Joseph Ridley, who died Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Jones, pastor of the Harrisville Evangelical Presbyterian Church, presiding.Interment will be in Harmony Cemetery in Harrisville.Memorial contributions may be given to Slippery Rock Community Library, P.O. Box 25, Slippery Rock, Pa., 16057.
