William Madison Schroeder
William Madison Schroeder, 77, of Orchard Manor, Grove City, and formerly of Slippery Rock and Plain Grove, passed away at VNA Hospice in Butler Tuesday.
He was born in Pittsburgh, March 9, 1940, to William Robert and Dorothy Elizabeth Huffman Schroeder.
He married Gloria Jean Rime, May 21, 1960, and she survives at Orchard Manor in Grove City.
Bill worked in maintenance for SNPJ of Pennsylvania and served as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was an active member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Slippery Rock and he enjoyed wood working.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by two daughters, Debby J. (Dennis) Snyder of Grove City and Sherry A. (Andrew) Major of Orchard Park, N.Y.; his son, William G. “Butch” (Crystal) Schroeder of Slippery Rock; three sisters, Wanda (Robert) Cover of Land O' Lakes, Fla., Karen (Ray) Paga of Evans City and Susan Palmer of Saxonburg; a brother, John (Nancy) Schroeder of Gibsonia; also seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Adam Snyder.
SCHROEDER — The family of William Madison Schroeder, who died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 8 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Larry K. Loree Jr. of All Saints Lutheran Church, presiding.Interment will be at Pinewood Memorial Gardens, Cranberry Township.
