Donald Edward Lutz Sr.
Donald Edward Lutz Sr., age 74, of Harmony, passed away Friday at home surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 27, 1943, son of Mary and Hiram Lutz.
Don was a 1962 graduate of Zelienople High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam from 1966 to 1970 aboard the U.S.S. Gearing DD710. He worked at Halstead Industries and IPSCO Koppel Tubular in Ambridge until his retirement in 2013. He was also a member of Conway Sportsman's Club and the American Legion Post 474 in Zelienople.
He is survived by his wife, Sharron Lutz, whom he married July 21, 1964; his sons, Donald E. (Vicki) Lutz Jr. and Devin Lutz; his daughters, Jodi (Mark) Frank, Nicole (Brandon) Magerl and Kerry Lutz; eight grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Chance, Christian, Noah, Izriel, Mase, Hannah and Emilie; his sister, Dawna “Mitzi” Rice; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Lutz and Floyd Smith; his sister, Betty Lutz; and one infant daughter.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Family Hospice and his nurse, Kelly, as well as the UPMC Cancer Center.
LUTZ — Friends of Donald Edward Lutz Sr., who died Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Peggy Suhr-Barkley officiating.Don will be laid to rest at the Grace Church Cemetery.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
