Edward C. Zillifro

Edward C. Zillifro, 86, of Slippery Rock and formerly of Oil City died Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born Dec. 31, 1930, in Oil City, he was the son of the late Augusta (Feeney) Zillifro and Richard Zillifro.

He graduated from St. Joseph School in 1949.

Ed married Donna Kaufman on Sept. 6, 1958, in St. Joseph Church in Oil City.

Ed retired from Titusville Fabricators in Franklin and was previously employed by Franklin Steel.

He was a member of St. Peters Church in Slippery Rock and was formerly a member of St. Stephens Church in Oil City.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had served in Japan.

Ed was a Fourth Degree member of the Oil City Knights of Columbus.

He was an avid golfer. He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; a son, Todd Zillifro and his wife, Debbie, and their two sons, Zachary and Jacob of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Traci Zillifro, and her husband, Jeffrey Smith, and their two children, Alexandra “Lexi” and Logan, of Slippery Rock; and a daughter in-law, Pam Zillifro of Alexandria, Va., and her two children, Meghan Banach of Alexandria, Va., and Marshall Maracinni of Columbus, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Zillifro, who died in 2009; as well as two brothers, Thomas Zillifro and Richard J. Zillifro; and six sisters, Dorothy Daugherty, Edna Davis, Betty Hepler, Florence Beck, Augusta Goss and Rose French. He was the last remaining member of his immediate family.

It was Edward's final wish to be cremated.

ZILLIFRO — Friends of Edward C. Zillifro, who died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, will be received from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Reinsel Funeral Home, 116 Bissell Ave., Oil City. A memorial service will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Deacon Tim Wren presiding.Memorials can be made to the Butler Visiting Nurses Association Hospice, and the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team.The Reinsel Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.Condolences may be sent at www.reinselfuneralhome.com.
