3 injured in 2-car crash in Middlesex
MIDDLESEX TWP — Three people were injured Monday morning in a near head-on collision on Route 8, authorities said.
Thomas L. Anna, 41, of Callery, one of the drivers, was taken by ambulance to a Pittsburgh hospital with injuries that Middlesex Township police described as “moderate.”
The other driver, Michael A. Dusheck, 55, of Muddy Creek Township, and his passenger, Bruce Drotleff, 45, of New Castle, suffered minor injuries but refused hospital treatment.
Police Sgt. Randy Ruediger said the crash happened about 7:10 a.m. as Anna was northbound in a Jeep and Dusheck was southbound in a car on Route 8.
He said Anna was in the turning lane and Dusheck was in the slow lane when Anna attempted to make a left turn onto Old Route 8 and traveled in front of Dusheck.
Anna was still in his vehicle when emergency crews got there. Dusheck and Drotleff were able to get out of their car on their own, authorities said.
Penn Township police arrived to help with traffic control. The Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Department and Quality Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
Ruediger said the crash investigation continues.
