A burst pipe discovered Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, has caused the Butler Meals on Wheels program to stop deliveries for at least a week. Fire crews responded to a fire Monday night, Jan. 1, 2018, in a welding shop behind Summit Academy. The Herman and East Butler fire departments responded to the fire, which was reported around 5:30 p.m. Summit Academy is a school for court-adjudicated youth and young adults ages 14 to 19. The main school building was not evacuated Monday night as the fire was in a detached structure. Dick Roberts, Summit Academy spokesman, said Monday night that there was no one in the building when the fire broke out and no one was hurt.
