Donald Lewis Rose
Donald Lewis Rose, 94, of Valencia, passed away Thursday in the comfort of his home.
Born May 24, 1924, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Harold James and Emma Esther Lewis Rose.
Don served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, as an electronics instructor.
He was a graduate of George Washington University with a J.D. in law.
Don worked as a patent attorney for Reynold Metal Company in Virginia. He then worked as manager of the legal department at Callery Chemical, retiring as the patent attorney for Gulf Oil in the Pittsburgh headquarters.
Education was important to Don and his children all followed his example and have successful careers.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Jean Jordan Rose, whom he married on May 27, 1967, their children, Kristine E. Allen (Pete) of Butler, Robert C. Rose (Cindi) of Frisco, Texas, Margaret J. Rose, M.D., (Bob Yostos) of Madison, Conn., Stephen L. Rose (Monica) of Holly Springs, N.C., Elizabeth S. Rose Gould (Tim) of Sayville, N.Y., and his children, Laurel L. Rose, Ph.D., of Pittsburgh, Robin E. Rose Trauernicht (John) of Yorktown, Va., and James M. Rose (Jackie) of Ft. Collins, Colo.; a sister, Charmaine Rose in N.H., and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth Brennan and Margaret Rose, and his brothers, Phillip, Vincent and Lawrence Rose.
