William K. Gilleland

William K. Gilleland, 86, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Valencia, died Sunday morning at Mortan Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla.

Born in Valencia on Jan. 23, 1931, he was the son of the late William O. and Clara Kennedy Gilleland.

While living in Valencia, Bill had worked for the D.D. Kennedy Farm and for Pittsburgh Cut Flower. Most recently, he retired from the Food Service Department at the Largo Medical Center.

He was a member of the Valencia Presbyterian Church and attended the Indian Rocks Baptist Church at Heron House, where he enjoyed singing with them.

He was a life member of the Valencia VFD, now Adams Area Fire District.

William was the brother of Betty Steiner of Clearwater, Fla., and Helen Porter of Largo, Fla.; uncle of James Steiner of Altoona, Dennis Porter in West Virginia, Jeffrey Porter in Texas, and the late Ronald Steiner; and several great- nieces; and one great- nephew.

GILLELAND — Friends of William K. Gilleland, who died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev.
