Upside-down world

We are living in an upside-down world where the president can talk openly about grabbing women’s private parts, refer to a female senator as “Pocahontas,” call the leaders of other countries by insulting nicknames, tell a lie about watching Muslims clap and cheer as the towers went down on 9-11 while standing in New Jersey; referring to Africa and other countries as “...hole” countries and so much more.

There are people who support this type of behavior by praising a man like this. For me, that is the upside-down part. Granted, there have always been immoral people in government, but we used to not condone this type of behavior. Many of us did not hide behind our faith or religion to create a safe place for a man such as this. We knew right from wrong and stood up for those who needed our help and support.

I am a retired psychologist who has worked with many mentally ill people. Diagnosis is often made on behaviors and the frequency, intensity and severity of these behaviors. In observing the speeches of your president; reading his twitter feeds; studying many years of his behaviors, and much more, it is not only evident to me, but to so many others, that he is not functioning with a stable, healthy and positive mind-set.

This is no longer about party affiliation; it is about what is healthy and right for our citizens, our country and the world.
