Firefighters were called to 329 E. Brady St. at 1:48 a.m. When they arrived, the front of the house, which was owned by the Walters, was fully involved. One firefighter made entry at the back of the house, but almost fell through the floor. At that point, the fire department switched focus to keeping the fire from spreading to adjacent houses. The large amount of things in the house made it difficult for firefighters to attack the blaze and at one point, the floors collapsed into the basement, which was stacked with things. The house was demolished Monday afternoon. For more on this double-fatal house fire, read the Butler Eagle.
