Benjamin Wahl

Benjamin Wahl, 16, of Renfrew earned the rank of Eagle Scout Nov. 29 with Troop 457 of Zelienople.

Benjamin will participate in a Court of Honor ceremony March 11.

He is the son of Dr. Michael and Kathy Wahl of Renfrew.

For his Eagle Scout project, Benjamin built an eight-by-eight-foot pavilion for the Butler County Humane Society, which includes a concrete floor, metal roof, wooden bench and a dog-waste bag dispenser. More than three hundred hours were invested in the project and could not have been possible without the many donors who gave to the project and volunteers who helped with the work.

Benjamin has been active in scouting for five years. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow with Brotherhood distinction.

Having earned 42 merit badges during his career, he has served his troop as chaplain aide, quartermaster, patrol leader and senior patrol leader.

Benjamin, who is home-schooled, will graduate with a high school diploma in 2019. He hopes to pursue a career as a commercial pilot.
