Car hits wall at Harmony nursing home
HARMONY — Residents at a borough nursing home got an unwelcome visitor Sunday.
No one was injured when a 2012 Toyota Venza crashed into The Grove at Harmony nursing home after the driver accidentally accelerated into the structure while trying to park on Sunday around 2 p.m.
The driver, a 79-year-old woman from Mars, pulled into the parking spot when her husband suggested that she pull into it a little further, according to Terry Seilhamer, Jackson Township's police chief.
“When she did, she accidentally hit the accelerator a little harder than she intended,” he said.
There were no injuries and the damage to the building was not structural. The nursing home covered up the damage with plywood, Seilhamer said.
