M. Norabelle Gerwick Young
M. Norabelle Gerwick Young, 97, of Grove City, formerly of the Emlenton area, passed into eternal rest at 7:07 a.m. Sunday morning at the Orchard Manor in Grove City where she had lived for a number of years.
Born Nov. 1, 1920, in Allegheny Township, she was daughter of the late William D. and Esther Blanche Stevenson Gerwick.
“Norrie” enjoyed Country music along with her late husband Frank, but she was also well known as an avid bingo player.
She was a member of the Church of God of Grove City and was a lady deeply devoted to her entire family.
Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Jean (Paul) Schmidt of Grove City and Shirley (Harold) Heller of Franklin; one son and his wife, Larry (Elizabeth) Young of Franklin; one daughter-in-law, Kay Young of East Butler; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Young, who she married June 10, 1937, and who died Aug. 14, 1992.
Mrs. Young was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Young, who had lived in East Butler.
The last surviving member of a family of 10 siblings, “Norrie” was preceded in death by Abigail Levy, Kathryn Shoup, Kenneth, Robert, George, William, Clarence, Donald and Lewis Gerwick.
YOUNG — Friends of M. Norabelle Gerwick Young, who died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire, where funeral services will be at 8:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
