Frederick E. “Fred” Lehner
Frederick E. “Fred” Lehner, 76, of North Fairview, Main St., Petrolia, went to be with the Lord with his loving family at his side early Thursday morning, at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Frederick was born Oct. 1, 1941, in Kaylor. He was the son of the late Eugene G. “Jello” and Rose McGlaughlin Lehner.
He was a 1959 graduate of Fairview Township, Karns City High School.
Fred was a longtime member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora and had served on church council.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding through the countryside and treasured time spent with his grandchildren.
Fred was a U.S. Army veteran and had served in Vietnam. He was a proud military veteran and patriotic American.
He was retired from INDSPEC in Petrolia where he had been employed for more than 35 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Graham Lehner, whom he married Dec. 11, 1970, at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Holly L. Payne and her husband, Doug, of Brockport, N.Y., Lori K. Miller and her husband, Greg, of Erie, Melinda M. Christie and her husband, Justin, of Fenelton, and Rosemarie H. Jones and her husband, Larry, of Petrolia; seven grandchildren, Erik Payne, Breanna Payne, Nathan Miller, Megan Miller, Jocelyn Christie, Jacob Jones and Mya Jones; a sister, Linda; a sister-in-law, Darlene Lehner of Grove City; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joey and Tom Lehner.
LEHNER — Friends of Frederick E. “Fred” Lehner, who died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora. The rosary will be recited at 4:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Monday from Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, 409 N. Main St., Chicora, with the Rev.
