Betty Spears Himes

Betty Spears Himes, 91, passed away Feb. 16 at Emerald Springs in Yuma, Ariz.

She was born in Tarentum, Feb. 5, 1927. She married and raised her family in Butler until she moved to Arizona to be with her daughter, Liz, and granddaughter, Kelly, 15 years ago.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; her husband, Bob, and her daughter, Susan.

She is survived by her daughter, Liz Allmond; her granddaughter, Kelly Mayfield and her husband, Jay Mayfield; and her great-grandchildren, Avery Watley, Nolan and Ayden Mayfield of Yuma.

Betty retired from Bell Telephone where she worked as a long distance operator. She was a long time Elk and member of the American Legion.

She missed her Butler family and friends after her move to Arizona but dearly loved her family in Yuma as well as her beloved cat, Little Girl.

She was loved very much, will be sadly missed and will live forever in our hearts.

HIMES — A celebration of her life and goodbye is being planned in Yuma for Betty Spears Himes, who died Friday, Feb. 16, 2018. Her ashes will rest with her husband and daughter in Butler.A final farewell will follow her burial this spring.Arrangements were entrusted to SUNSET VISTA FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY, Yuma, Ariz.
