Charles “Charlie” Robert Brown

Charles “Charlie” Robert Brown of Overbrook, Pa., passed away Sunday at Shelbourne Personal Care Facility in Butler at age 95.

He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1940 and shortly thereafter joined the 7th Army Air Force, where he served as a sergeant in the Pacific Theater during World War II for four years.

He worked for Bell Telephone Company, now Verizon, for 34 years.

He was a member of Baldwin Community United Methodist Church in Whitehall.

He was the loving husband of the late Dorothy Rudolph Brown, to whom he was married nearly 63 years.

He is survived by two children, Patricia (Regis) Judy and Robert (Nancy) Brown; seven grandchildren, Daniel Judy, Stephen (Jennifer) Judy, David Judy, Rachel (Andrew) Gilson, Lauren (Nick) Adrian, Ryan Brown and Taylor (Kate) Brown; and was the great-grandfather of Kaden Brown.

BROWN — Family and friends of Charles “Charlie” Robert Brown, who died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at John F. Slater Funeral Home, 4201 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday followed by a military service at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 401 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh.In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charles' name may be made to The Salvation Army online or sent to 313 W.
