Mary L. Hawn

Mary L. Hawn, 84, of Butler passed away peacefully Tuesday evening at Elmcroft of Saxonburg.

She was born May 18, 1933, in Pittsburgh, and was a daughter of the late Wendell and Louise Hess Hoffman.

Mary was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

She was also a member of St. Michael's Rosary Makers and Mary Queen of Franciscans Secular Franciscan Order Fraternity. In addition, she served for many years as a CCD teacher at her former parish, Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church.

She was a great seamstress and she loved gardening.

Mary is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Moore, and her husband, David, of Butler; three sons, Bruce Hawn and his wife, Glenna, of Prospect, James Hawn and his wife, Debbie, of Butler and Scott Hawn and his wife, Karen, of Butler; two brothers, Joseph Hoffman and his wife, Carol, of Moon Township and Bernard Hoffman and his wife, Linda, of Coraopolis; and three sisters, Dorothy Roth of Golden Valley, Minn., Rosemarie Rebel of Pittsburgh and Ruthann Reiland and her husband, Robert, of Bethel Park.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Brandon Moore, Amanda Londino, Emily Eldridge, Ashley Hawn and Karlee Hawn; two great-grandchildren, Natalie Marie Londino and Owen Robert Eldridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Hawn, who passed away Jan. 11, 2014; and an infant son, James Arthur Hawn.

HAWN — There will be no visitation for Mary L. Hawn, who died Tuesday, March 6, 2018.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.Arrangements were entrusted to Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Rosary Makers of St. Michael's, in care of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler, PA 16001.For more information, please visit www.martinfh.net.
