Butler man gets prison time for indecent assault conviction
A Butler man charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old last April pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of indecent assault in Butler County Court.
Paul A. Claypoole, 40, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor indecent assault before President Judge Thomas Doerr.
The plea agreement calls for a sentence of 11½ to 23 months in Butler County Prison, followed by probation and 15 years registration as a sexual offender, according to Assistant District Attorney Richard Bosco.
Butler police filed the charges after a witness reported seeing Claypoole assaulting the child through a window of a Center Avenue home as he walked by.
