A motorcyclist flown to Pittsburgh after collision with car

A motorcyclist was critically injured at noon Friday when a woman pulled in front of him on a busy highway.

Martin Kaczynski, 63, of Renfrew was driving his 2011 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide east on Route 422 when a Chevy Cobalt driven by Bonnie Gundlach, 67, of Portersville pulled out of the Kwik Fill in Franklin Township near the Butler Fairgrounds.

Kaczynski, who was wearing a helmet, was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with what police reports called "major injuries."

Gundlach, who was not hurt, was charged with a violation for entering or crossing a roadway.

Route 422 was closed between the intersection with Unionville Road and the Route 528 ramps near the fairgrounds.

No information on Kaczynski's condition was available on Friday afternoon.
