Norma D. Sybert

Norma D. Sybert, 90, of Butler passed away Friday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born in Butler Aug. 16, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Perifano Giacomo.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 55 and Alive of St. Michael's, Ladies Guild of St. Michael's, and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She also supported the Butler County Humane Society.

Norma was employed as a secretary at Deshon Hospital. She also worked at Spaide Shirt Factory, Troutman Department Store, the Hub and the Society of St. Vincent DePaul Store.

She is survived by four children, Sharen Dixon and her husband, Jim, of Slippery Rock, Janice Zavacky and her husband, Bob, of Butler, Steven Sybert and his wife, Donna, of Middlesex Township, and Paul Sybert and his wife, Molly, of Butler.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Scott Graham, Kristin Graham, Brian Zavacky and his wife, Sasha, Trisha Murray and her husband, Rick, Dr. Michael Sybert, Jeanna Sybert, Brett Sybert and Amanda Sybert; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Graham, Addison and Owen Zavacky, and Kate and Kylie Murray; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Norma was the last surviving member of her siblings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Sybert, who passed away Dec. 8, 1979; nine siblings, Theresa Lauteria, Arlene Vernacotola, Emily DiSabato, Jean Spekis, Frank Giacomo, Lucille DeFoggi, Marie McGuire and twin sisters, June and Joyce Giacomo; one granddaughter, Michelle Graham; and one son-in-law, Dallas Graham.

SYBERT — Friends of Norma D. Sybert, who died Friday, March 30, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler.Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.The family requests memorial donations to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 146 North Monroe Street, Butler, PA, 16001For more information, please visit www.martinfh.net.
