Donna M. Mentzer
Donna M. Mentzer, 84, of Butler passed away Sunday at her residence.
Born Jan. 12, 1934, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Genevieve Angert Smith.
She worked in retail for E.G. Grenci and the Bon Ton Department Store in Butler, before becoming a homemaker. She was a volunteer for hospice for several years.
She enjoyed camping at Moraine Camp Grounds. She also enjoyed bowling, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Donald E. Mentzer, whom she married July 21, 1951; five children, Sandra (Bruce) Babula of Tennessee, Mickie Mennor of Butler; Douglas (Blanche) Mentzer of East Butler; David (Linda) Mentzer of Butler and Karen (Bill) May of Butler; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Mentzer; a grandson, Joshua Mentzer; two brothers, John and Leo Smith; and two sisters, Phyllis Smith and Ann Grenci.
MENTZER — Friends of Donna M. Mentzer, who died Sunday, April 1, 2018, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.St. Paul Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will gather at the church at 9:30 a.m. Thursday to recite the rosary.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. The Rev. Harry Bielewicz will officiate.
