Ann Podobensky

Ann Podobensky, 96, of Highfield, Butler, died at Avow Hospice in Naples, Fla., on Wednesday following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born Sept. 4, 1921, in Lyndora, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Irene Kopach Zanicky.

She was a hard worker who loved to cook, bake and garden. One of her favorite things to do was put up her extensive Christmas display each year.

Mrs. Podobensky was a very active member of St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church in Lyndora.

She was retired from Pullman Standard as a welder.

Surviving are her children, Greg Sr. (Vicky) Podobensky, Gayle (the late David) Krisher, Mary Ann (Paul) Kowalik, Daniel Podobensky and Kenny (Patty) Podobensky; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Podobensky; her son, Gene; and seven brothers and one sister and their spouses.

PODOBENSKY — Friends of Ann Podobensky, who died Wednesday, April 4, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Parastas service will take place at 6:30 p.m. from the funeral home.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, 610 Hansen Ave., Lyndora, with the Rev.
