Nancy Braun's second grade students at Butler's McQuistion Elementary School wrote about why their mothers are the best:

My mom is the best because she helps me with my homework. She gives me hugs before school. We go to Olive Garden and she gets the meatball pizza bowl and I get pizza.

— Legend———My mom makes the best cookies in the world and the best cakes in the world and everything is beautiful about her.

— Shane———My mom cleans the house, like the kitchen and the living for me and my brother. I got my mom a little glass butterfly because I love her.

— Marley———She plays outside with me and my brother ... She plays basketball with me and my brother … She takes me to Disney each year. I go with my mom and dad and my sister and my brother.

— Patrick———My mom is a good cook and she is funny. On vacation she helped me pick my clothes. My mom snuggles with me and we watch TV. My mom helps me with my homework and tucks me in at night.

— Sophia———My mom is funny. She cooks delicious food. My mom lets me watch TV when I'm done with my homework. When we go to my grandma's house my mom lets me go outside and explore nature.

— Charlie———My mom on my birthday makes me mac 'n cheese. My favorite dinner that she makes is steak with white rice ... My favorite lunch that she makes is mac 'n cheese again. My favorite breakfast that she makes is toast with grape jelly and butter on it.

— Brady———My mom is very kind and she sleeps on the other couch to watch me when I broke my collar bone … My mom will do the dishes and she will also help my dad cook. I like whenever they cook chicken. They take us on vacation to camp.

— Jakson———My mom is the most awesomest parent ever. My mom buys me food and takes care of me. My mom protects and loves me. My mom bought me glasses and buys me clothes. My mom took us to the Outer Banks.

— Michael———My mom makes good cookies. I love her cookies … My mom is really nice. She takes me to my soccer games in traveling league. She also goes to the regular games.

— Rylee———My mom does things around the house. She works. She plays with me, my brother and sister. She takes me to the park. She takes me to the trails … My mom is hardworking and is pretty. She is good at cooking.

— Zander———My mom lets me pick what I want for dinner every night … My mom plays games with me. My mom makes sure that I get to my activities on time … In the summer my mom plays on the swing with me.

— Alyse———My mom is really silly and is just perfect in every way. We sometimes go get ice cream. She is nice, silly, funny and dresses nice ... She has a puppy too and it is adorable.

— Jolene———My mom takes me to school every day. My mom makes delicious cookies for me. My mom does my homework with me. My mom gets me to gymnastics on time.

— Caylee———She always does puzzles with me. She always makes my birthday so special. She always lets me help her at church … She takes me to school. When we went for vacation she always took me in the water.

— Jasmine———Mom and Dad take me to restaurants and we go to the park. They cook for me and we make tacos together. We play Uno and Jenga together. I lose a lot. It is fun. They would do anything for me.

— Wyatt———My mom makes my favorite kind of pizza. I help her with the laundry and with the dog. She helps me with homework. I love when she makes tea.

— Levi———She makes the best cookies. She plays games with me and builds Legos with me.

— Aiden———Me and my mom are going to New York in the summer. My mom makes good food and she is nice. We go to the beach and go swimming and go eat hot dogs.
