Margaret “Peg” Jean Eury

Margaret “Peg” Jean Eury, 93, of Butler passed away Thursday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She previously resided at New Haven Court.

Peg was born May 22, 1924, in Brackenridge, and was the daughter of the late Charles Snyder and the late Roberta Caldwell Snyder.

She was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church. Peg was a member of Willing Workers at Hill United Presbyterian Church, Missionary Group at Hill United Presbyterian Church and also did volunteer work at Sunnyview Nursing Home. She was a longtime member of TOPS Club 152.

Peg is survived by her two sons, Jack (Sally) Eury of Butler, and Dale Eury of Butler; one daughter, Lynn (Wes) Smith of Brookville, Pa.; five grandchildren, Kristie (Rachael) Tyner, Denise (Dan) Barger, Jessica (Chuck) Martin, David (Chris) Barger, and Jason (Breah) Gregg; three great- grandsons; one great- granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lowellyn O. “Lew” Eury, whom she married Sept. 3, 1945, and who passed away June 18, 1997; and five sisters.

EURY — Friends of Margaret “Peg” Jean Eury, who died Thursday, April 19, 2018, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. William Jackson of Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating.Private burial will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 2nd St., Butler, PA 16001.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
