Karen L. Petras

Karen L. Petras, 74, of Ford City passed away Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 30, 1943, in Butler, the daughter of Dwayne “Bud” Wagner and Marie Schaeffer Wagner.

Karen was married to William “Bill” Petras, who passed away Sept. 8, 2008.

She worked at Big River Mfg. She then became an LPN at Wesley Manor in Westhaven. She also worked for Dr. Keith Buck's office.

Karen attended Manor Presbyterian Church in Ford City.

She liked bingo, puzzles, Sudoku and going to the family camp to view the elk. Karen loved spending time with her friends and family playing cards and reading her Bible on a daily basis.

Karen was always willing to help those in need.

Karen is survived by her mother, Marie; her sons, Dwayne (Paula) Petras of Kittanning and William “Bill” Petras of Ford City; her grandchildren, Bethany and Matthew Petras; and her sister, Linda Wagner of Ford City.

In addition to her husband, William, Karen was preceded in death by her father and her daughter, Tracy Ann Petras.

PETRAS — Visitation for Karen L. Petras, who died Thursday, April 19, 2018, will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Mantini Funeral Home, 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City.Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Appleby Manor Church, 810 Main St., Ford City. The service, held at 11 a.m., will be officiated by Pastor Gary Lyon.Family requests donations to be made to Lobby Cancer Center, One Nolte Drive, Kittanning, PA 16201 or to BHS Foundation Heart Center, 1 Hospital Way, Butler, PA 16001.
