Ledia “Lee” Granati Carosi

Ledia “Lee” Granati Carosi, 89, of Butler passed away Wednesday.

Born Dec. 31, 1928, in Beaver Falls, she was a daughter of the late Guilio and Laura Pacifici Granati.

In high school, she was an honored woman athlete and talented singer.

She was formerly employed as a weighmaster at Davison Coal Co., and she was also a switchboard operator at Providence Hospital in Beaver Falls.

A great Italian cook and baker of wonderful lover's knots, pizzellas and other delectable cookies, she loved to entertain friends and family with her food and joyful sense of humor. She loved the music of classic Italian boy singers and opera. Lee spent many hours diligently crocheting colorful afghan blankets that she gave away to warm her entourage.

Lee was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.

She is survived by her husband, Arcangelo Carosi, whom she married July 7, 1951; two sons, Paul Carosi and his wife, MaryAnn, of Mount Lebanon, and John Carosi and his wife, Carla, of Butler; one sister, Norma DeMuzio of Chippewa Township; her sister-in-law, Norma Jean Granati: five grandchildren, Phillip, Matthew, Mia, Bryan and Peter Carosi; and one great-granddaughter, Lydia Carosi.

She was preceded in death by one son, James V. Carosi, who passed away April 30, 1983; two brothers, Francis Granati and Herman Granati Sr.; and one niece, Linda Granati Evans.

CAROSI — Friends of Ledia “Lee” Granati Carosi, who died Wednesday, April 25, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian, with the Rev. William D. Wuenschel officiating.Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beaver Falls.The family requests memorial donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, 146 N.
