Freda Merrison
Freda Merrison, 91, of Butler, formerly of Forward Township passed away Monday while under the care of St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born Dec. 25, 1926, in London, England, she was the daughter of the late Emmanuel “Joseph” Izan and Nancy Cohen Izan.
Freda was a member of the British Brides Club. She loved to travel, especially to England and Australia. She enjoyed camping and knitting. An avid Pittsburgh sports fan, she cheered on the Steelers and the Pirates. Above all, Freda cherished the time she spent with her beloved family. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Daryl (Sally) Merrison of Butler, Kathy (Web) Kennedy of Harmony, James (Debbie) Merrison of Evans City, and Debra (Arthur) Geiger of Butler; her grandchildren, Stacy Merrison, Chris Merrison, Nicole Merrison, Kimberly (Clinton) Beham, Samantha (William) Hall, Sarah (Kevin) McEntire and Sydney (Richard) Burns; 19 great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Sheila Izan of England, and Amy Colbert of Australia; and her brother-in-law, Jim Ackerley of England.
In addition to her parents, Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Thomas Merrison, who passed away Aug. 9, 2013; two brothers; and two sisters.
MERRISON — Friends of Freda Merrison, who died Monday, May 7, 2018, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E.
