Woman injured in morning accident
A woman was injured this morning when her car collided with a single-axle tractor-trailer on Route 422 just west of Unionville Road in Franklin Township, authorities said.
Prospect volunteer firefighters had to extricate Lynn Bean, 31, of Mercer, who was trapped in her vehicle following the crash just before 6 a.m.
State police said Bean suffered a broken left arm and had leg and knee injuries and a possible head injury, but she was talking to emergency crews.
She was taken to an unknown Pittsburgh hospital by ambulance.
Police said Bean was eastbound when her Ford Fusion crossed into the opposing lane and struck the truck that was headed west and driven by Bill Porter of West Sunbury. Porter was not hurt.
The crash caused a tie up of rush-hour traffic for about an hour.
