Police accuse city man of making drug deal
A Butler man is accused of selling heroin to a police informant in the city earlier this year.
Butler police on Thursday arrested 37-year-old Frank E. Zang Jr. on a felony warrant obtained by the Butler County Drug Task Force.
Zang allegedly sold four stamp bags of heroin to the informant for $40 at about 7 p.m. March 8 on West Brady Street, task force officer Ben Spangler, who also is a sergeant with the Butler Police Department, said in his affidavit.
Court documents also noted that the drug deal happened within 1,000 feet of a school zone, Emily Brittain Elementary School.
The task force Tuesday obtained an arrest warrant for the defendant.
Zang was placed in Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail following arraignment. His preliminary hearing was not immediately scheduled.
