Man could get 5-10 years for home invasion
A Clarion County man, who was stabbed several times after police said he broke into a home in Fairview Township, pleaded guilty to burglary Thursday, and is expected to be sentenced up to 10 years in prison.
Patrick C. Bookwalter, 36, of Rimersburg, pleaded guilty to felony burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary before President Judge Thomas Doerr. The plea agreement calls for a sentence of 5 to 10 years in state prison, restitution and fines. He is scheduled for sentencing on July 25.
Bookwalter was initially charged with felony possession of a firearm prohibited, criminal trespass, burglary, robbery, conspiracy to both previous charges, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of attempted theft, misdemeanor loitering and prowling at night, two counts of simple assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person and two summary counts of harassment after an incident in the 300 block of Petrolia Road, Fairview Township, on June 8, 2017.
He was charged alongside Michael L. Bure, 36, of Worthington, Armstrong County, and Joseph R. Painter, 34, of Kittanning, Armstrong County, after police say they broke into the home of Savannah M. Blust, 24, and her boyfriend, Macklin C. Haye, 24, targeting the couple for proceeds of their illegal drug business — selling marijuana and THC wax — which they were making in the house.
Bookwalter was stabbed four times at the scene by Bluse who was defending Haye, according to police.
