Woman sentenced in sexual assault
A Valencia woman was sentenced Wednesday to a state prison term, which she will be allowed to serve at the county jail.
Jennifer Shick, 46, was sentenced to 15 to 30 months in a state correctional facility, which Judge William Shaffer allowed her to serve at the Butler County Prison per the plea agreement, but “should the Warden deem it necessary to remove the Dft (sic), she shall be transported to the Dept. of Corrections,” according to court documents.
Her parole will then be followed by 5 years of the county Intermediate Punishment Program, with the first year on house arrest with electronic monitoring.
She also will be required to register as a sex offender for life, as part of the sentence.
Shick pleaded guilty to two counts of felony statutory sexual assault on Nov. 29.
Middlesex Township police initially charged Shick with six counts each of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, child endangerment and corruption of minors stemming from sexual contact with a boy that occurred between 2011 and 2014, mostly in Middlesex Township.
The remaining charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
