Retired Staff Sgt. Dalton W. Morgan
Retired Staff Sgt. Dalton W. Morgan, 76, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 14, 1941, in Argentine, Pa., and was the son of the late Edward and Rose (Stadnyk) Morgan.
Dalton was retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service.
He had worked at Pullman Standard and was activated with the National Guard on numerous occasions. He finally retired from the Butler Veterans Hospital, where he had been a cook.
He enjoyed hunting, cooking, traveling and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Betty (Eppinger) Morgan; two daughters, Connie (Richard) Dixon of Butler, and Lt. Col. Jessica (Michael) Whaley of Harker Heights, Texas; a son, retired Sgt. 1st Class James (Ronda) Morgan of Wiesbaden, Germany; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert (Madelyn) Morgan of Connecticut and Curtis (Carol) Morgan of Karns City; and numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers.
MORGAN — Friends of Dalton W. Morgan, who died Tuesday, May 29, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Military honors will follow at the funeral home following the blessing service and will be provided by the VFW Post 249 and the American Legions posts 778 and 117.Interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.Please visit www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
