Mary Ruth Cozad
Mary Ruth Cozad, 88, of Cranberry Township passed away on Thursday.
She was born Oct. 12, 1929, in Ambridge, and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Stone (Ruth) Beerman.
Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary provided exceptional nurture and guidance to her children, as her husband, Rudy, proudly served his country in a military career.
She was a faithful member of St. Ferdinand Parish in Cranberry Township for over 40 years, where she served as a eucharistic minister, was a member of the women's group, the funeral luncheon committee and a Bible study group. Mary was also a member of the Red Hat Society for a number of years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leo Beerman.
Mary is survived by her husband of 65 years, Rutherford “Rudy” Cozad; six children and their spouses, Michael (Helen) Cozad of Crafton, Mark (Donna) Cozad of Cranberry Township, Anita (Brian) Neff of Cape Coral, Fla., Mary Jo (Carl) Follmer of Freedom, Julia (Jeff) Jenkins of Erie, and Teresa (Chris) Carney of Baltimore, Md.; 13 grandchildren, Christopher, Erin, A.J., Molly, Kelly, Logan, Patrick, Maura, Haley, Kevin, Lauren, Declan and Nolan, all of whom she was immensely proud; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Vicky Mentzer of Crafton, and Jean Beerman of Leetsdale.
Her children would like to publicly thank their sister, Mary Jo Follmer, for her selfless, tireless and loving dedication in providing kind and compassionate care for their mother.
COZAD — Friends of Mary Ruth Cozad, who died Thursday, June 7, 2018, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, 273 Route 68, Rochester.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ferdinand Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.
