George and Brenda Shockey

George and Brenda Shockey of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family picnic June 23.

Shockey married the former Brenda Keatley on June 22, 1968, at First Baptist Church in Butler.

They have two children, Jodi Shockey Sloboda of Butler and Daryl Shockey of Butler.

They also have four grandchildren.

Shockey is the owner of Shockey Excavating, Shockey Ministorage, Rustic Ridge Mobile Home Park and Goin Postal.He is a former Butler Township commissioner and BASA board member.Mrs. Shockey is a retired registered nurse.The Shockeys are members of Community Alliance Church.
