Richard H. Grooms

Richard H. Grooms, 67, of Butler passed away on Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born Sept. 24, 1950, in Logan, W.Va., he was the son of Herman Cornelius Grooms and Alverta Smith Grooms.

Rick served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.

He was a service worker at Meadows Manor.

He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed riding his bicycle.

He loved life and he wanted everyone to be “Groominized.” He will be missed by all, especially his little puppies; Onyx, his cat; and he will be deeply missed by his fiancée.

Surviving are his daughter, Rikki Grooms of Alexandria, Va.; his fiancée, Karen Bryan of Butler; his sister, Tonda (Arthur “Billy”) Pegram of Huntington, W.Va.; one brother, Michael (Renee) Grooms of Oakland, Calif.; his aunt, Ida O. Grooms of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, the Rev. Gregory Allen Grooms.
