Corita Ann Bauldoff
Corita Ann Bauldoff, 71, of Brandywine Village in Renfrew passed away unexpectedly at her home Saturday.
Born May 2, 1947, in Daytona Beach, Fla., she was the daughter of Melvin and Frieda Michael Bauldoff.
Corita attended St. Paul's School in Butler and graduated from Butler Area Senior High School in 1965.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from Slippery Rock University in 1969. Corita spent a brief time substitute teaching for Butler Catholic School as well as Butler and Seneca Valley school districts.
Within one year of her college graduation, she began her successful career as a caseworker and eventually in an administrative position with the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in Allegheny County and Butler County Board of Assistance offices (1970-2007), impacting the lives of thousands of citizens in need during that time.
In addition to her busy career, Corita was best known for the vast amount of time she spent volunteering her expertise and invaluable knowledge in her role as a member, board member and officer for various nonprofit groups in the Butler community.
Over the years, Corita was actively involved with the following organizations: Butler County Symphony Association, Soroptimist International of Butler County, Butler County Junior Closet, the Center for Community Resources, ACT 101 of Butler County Community College, Victim Outreach Intervention Center (VOICe), Butler County Mental Health/Mental Retardation Advisory Board, Butler County Community Action and Development Board, Butler County Health and Human Service Council, Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) — chair of the Housing Subcommittee, Women's Investment Network, Keystone Tall Tree Girl Scout Council, Crime Victim Services, Pennsylvania Federation of Contest Judges of Western Pennsylvania, General Butler Vagabonds Drum and Bugle Corps, Housing Team for Butler County Human Services and was a lifetime member of the Slippery Rock University Alumni Association.
Corita was a member of St. Conrad/St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church since age 3, when her parents returned to Pennsylvania from Daytona Beach, Fla.
Over the years, Corita enjoyed golf, travel, reading, gardening, needlework and spending time with her family and friends in both Brandywine Village and Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Corita is survived by her three sisters, Jilana (Joseph) Alfonso of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Dr. Gerene Bauldoff of Columbus, Ohio, and Michelle (Frank) Ciliberto of Bear Creek Township, Pa.; her niece, Alyse (Joshua) Ogden of Columbus, Ohio; her nephew, James Alfonso of New York City; two stepnieces, Gina Forsythe of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Annjanette (Ryan) Stephenson of Moscow, Pa.; her stepnephew, Frank Joseph (Brenda) Ciliberto of Bear Creek Township, Pa.; along with five stepgrandnieces and one stepgrandnephew, Ella and Natalie Forsythe, Ava and Gianna Ciliberto, and Clara and Frankie Stephenson.
She is also survived by her uncle, Frank Schoeffel; and many beloved cousins extended family members and dear friends.
Corita was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Joseph Bauldoff on Jan. 27, 2012, and Frieda Michael Bauldoff on Aug. 14, 2008.
BAULDOFF — Friends of Corita Ann Bauldoff, who died Saturday, July 14, 2018, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian, with the Rev. FR. Harry R.
