Dr. James A. Yates

Dr. James A. Yates, M.D., 83, of Lemoyne, Pa., passed away Tuesday at Homeland Center in Harrisburg.

He was born June 5, 1935, in Butler, son of the late Adolph and Laura DeFoggi Yates.

Dr. Yates was a 1956 graduate of Cornell University and a 1960 graduate of the University of Maryland Medical College.

He interned at Cleveland Clinic Hospital with his residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He specialized in plastic surgery at Rhode Island Hospital in 1966.

Dr. Yates served as a captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland.

He was past president of the American Association for Accreditation Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, chief of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Holy Spirit Hospital. He was past medical director at Grandview Surgery Center. He served as past president of Lemoyne Borough Council and served on the board of directors for the Police and Fire Commission of Lemoyne.

He was preceded in death by his brother Dr. Adolph Yates.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Yates of Lemoyne, Pa.; his daughter, Jamie Yates Reynolds and her husband, Scott, of Seabrook, Texas; his grandchildren, Lyndsey Reynolds and Jamison Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.

YATES — A celebration of life for Dr. James A. Yates who died Tuesday, July 17, 2018, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the West Shore Country Club, Camp Hill, with reception to follow.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.Arrangements Neill Funeral Home in Camp Hill, Pa.
