Three men wanted for string of northern Butler Co. car break-ins

Photos from surveillance video at a Worth Township apartment complex shows three males who state police say broke into a car there Aug. 10. The three, according to police, are also possible suspects in numerous other vehicle break-ins in northern Butler County. Police released the photos in hopes the public will recognize the suspects.

State police are seeking the public's help in identifying three suspects they believe recently broke into a vehicle at a Worth Township apartment complex.

The same trio, police said, could also be responsible for numerous other vehicle break-ins in northern Butler County.

Troopers on Wednesday released photos of the unidentified three males that were taken from surveillance video at the apartment complex, which police did not identify, citing the ongoing investigation.

The footage showed the males shortly after at 1:10 a.m. Aug. 10 at the building in Worth Township. They allegedly broke into a car before an employee at the complex saw them and chased them off.

Nothing was taken from the car.

Police acknowledge that the same trio could be connected to a series of other vehicle break-ins during which three handguns were reportedly stolen.

So far, said Trooper Robert Gambone, police have identified 10 victims. He noted that multiple vehicles on West Park Road in Portersville and at the Lake Arthur Estates mobile home park in Muddy Creek Township were entered.

The vehicle break-ins happened between Aug. 10 and 13. Along with the guns, Gambone said, money, at least one GPS device and other small valuables were taken from the vehicles.

The crimes could be linked, police said, because of the time frame and their relatively close proximity.

Investigators said the targeted vehicles were all unlocked.

Anyone with information about the three suspects or any of the thefts is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
