Edward A. “Pappy” Decker

Edward A. “Pappy” Decker, 71, of Zelienople, passed away on Friday at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born Sept. 24, 1946, in Bellevue, he was the son of the late Arthur Kenneth Decker and Dorothy Martha Wach Decker.

Pappy was a member of the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church. He served as Tyler in the Harmony Masonic Lodge #429. Pappy loved fishing and bowling. He will be remembered as a sweet and kind man who loved his family.

Pappy is survived by his children, Melinda (Art) Lockard of Kittanning, Terry (Kathleen) Cochran of Harmony, Steven (Michelle) Priester of Blawnox, Denise (Randy) Herbie of Fombell, Raymond Priester of Harmony, Jennifer Decker of Clarion, and Edward Decker of Butler; his beloved 21 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and his companion, Jennifer Nelson of Valencia.

In addition to his parents, Pappy was preceded in death by his wife, Velma “Jo” Decker.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Pappy's caregivers, Amanda Kovach, Misty Gibson and Lisa Kirsch.

DECKER — Friends of Edward A. “Pappy” Decker, who died on Friday, July 20, 2018, will be received on Monday, July 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, Inc., 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, Pa. 16063. A Masonic service will be held at 5:45 p.m.Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Herbe officiating.Pappy will be laid to rest at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
