Larry Wilcox Christy
Larry Wilcox Christy, 73, of Grove City, passed away at his residence in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County, on Saturday.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1944 at the old Mercer Hospital, Mercer, to Boyd Sproull Christy and Opal May Wilcox Christy.
He married Sharon Elizabeth McGowan on June 19, 1981.
Prior to his disability, Larry worked for the Intermediate Unit in Grove City as an electronics technician. He enjoyed tinkering with electronics and was a “kind of an inventor.” He enjoyed fishing and hiking.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon, at home; son, Jeremy L. Christy (Jaime) of North Carolina; sister, Sara L. Christy Shirey of Grove City; brother, John Christy (Delores “Dee”) of Sandy Lake; and granddaughter, Ashley Christy.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Howard Kennedy Christy; three sisters, Veda Blair, Faye Todd and Dorcas Welton; and two brothers, Boyd “Junior” Christy and Garth Christy.
CHRISTY — Family of Larry Christy who died Saturday July 21, 2018, will receive friends at the Smith Funeral Home 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Jackson Center.
