Gertrude A. Lewis

Gertrude A. Lewis, 100, of Butler, passed away Wednesday at her home.

She was born Feb. 24, 1918, in Pittsburgh, to the late Florian E. Klose and the late Martha E. Engelmohr.

Gertrude was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and kitchen volunteer and was involved in various circle groups.

Gertrude is survived by one son, David (Debby) Lewis of Butler; one daughter, Martha (William) Hanley of Long Island, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde C. Lewis, who died Feb. 9, 1991; and two sisters.

LEWIS — Friends of Gertrude A. Lewis, who died Wednesday, July 25, 2018, will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Following the visitation, a funeral service will be at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor David Janz of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Boons Camp in Kentucky.Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 E.
