The Rev. Raymond W. Schermerhorn
The Rev. Raymond W. Schermerhorn, 90, of Grove City passed peacefully on Thursday in Orchard Manor.
He was born April 7, 1928, in Rifton, N.Y., to Bernard and Emily (Lowe) Schermerhorn.
Ray married Esther P. Preston on Sept. 2, 1950. She preceded him in death on Nov. 24, 2014.
He was a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College and Olivet Nazarene University.
The Rev. Schermerhorn was ordained as a Nazarene Pastor in 1960, in Trenton, Ontario, and served churches in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. He retired in 1993.
He is survived by two daughters, Ruth E. Wahl of Brunswick, Md., and Laura M. Madru of Renfrew; a son, the Rev. Ronald P. Schermerhorn and his wife, Heather, of Moon Township; a daughter-in- law, Grace Schermerhorn of Wesley, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Hanley and her husband, Gerald, of Elizabethtown, Pa.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Gary; and six siblings.
SCHERMERHORN — Visitation hours for the Rev. Raymond W. Schermerhorn, who died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon Monday at Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.Funeral service will be held at noon Monday at the funeral home with the Rev.
