Margie Jean Whited
Margie Jean Whited, 83, of Sarver, formerly of Rimersburg, passed away Aug. 7 at Saxony Health Center in Saxonburg.
She was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Rimersburg, the daughter of Jacob and Bessie (Womeldorf) Keefer.
Margie grew up in Rimersburg and graduated from Union High School in 1952. She then attended Butler Nursing School, completing her studies in 1955.
Margie went on to spend her nursing career working in Butler Memorial Hospital, nursing homes in Akron, Ohio, and Natrona Heights, and as a private duty nurse in Pittsburgh.
Margie lived in Lower Burrell and Sarver most of her adult life. She was active with the Butler Nursing School Alumni members and organized several Union High School reunions.
She was a gifted pianist and organist since grade school, and played piano with several local bands in the Clarion area during and after her high school years.
Margie loved to cook and was especially known for her magnificent pies.
Her memory will be cherished by her son, Mark Eugene Whited of Arlington, Va.; her grandchildren, Kelsey Jean Nerrie and her husband, Erik, of Hollywood, Calif., and Jay Wesley Whited and his wife, Ashten, of Farmville, Va.; her great-granddaughter, Claire Whited; her nephews, Greg, David and Dan Whited, Karl and Eric Slaughenhaupt, and Arthur Keefer; and her nieces, Elyse Douglas, Leanne Pope, Patty Jacobs and Kathy Barker.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Gene Marlin Whited, whom she married Dec. 1, 1956, and who died Feb. 9, 2018; and her brother, Arthur Keefer.
WHITED — The family of Margie Jean Whited, who died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main St., Rimersburg.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
