Sidewalk relocation under way
A local contractor has started moving the sidewalk on New Castle Street at the Main Street intersection in downtown Butler to allow Butler Transit Authority buses to reach the new terminal when it opens Oct. 1. Holbein Inc. of Sarver is doing the work under a $25,544 contract with the authority. The sidewalk is being moved back about five feet to increase the turn radius to allow buses to turn left from Main Street to reach the new terminal at 128 W. New Castle St. New lane striping is included in the contract. The left turn lane will be for buses only.
