Thomas L. Slupe
Thomas L. Slupe, 76, of Butler passed away at 6:45 a.m. Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born Dec. 14, 1941, in Jefferson Township, to the late Paul K. Slupe and the late Permilla B. Spohn Slupe.
Tom was a 1960 graduate of Butler High School. He worked for Continental Baking for 28 years, retiring in 1997.
Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora and a life member of the Meridian Vets Club and Butler Elks Lodge 170.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening “canning,” cooking and was an avid sports fanatic.
He is survived by three sons, Michael T. (Michele) Slupe, Brian E. (Melinda) Slupe and Mark D. (Amanda) Slupe, all of Butler; their mother, Rose E. Slupe; five granddaughters, Brittany, Kendra, Jessica, Summer and Marissa Slupe; two brothers, Robert H. Slupe of Butler and James L. Slupe of Butler; one sister, Ruth Shorts of Grove City; and numerous nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Nancy “Honey” Guibert.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

Slupe, who died Saturday, August 18, 2018, there will be no public visitation.A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Meridian Vets Club, 125 Vets Club Lane, Butler, with Pastor Tara Lynn of Grace @Calvary Lutheran Church officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Meridian Vets Club, 125 Vets Club Lane, Butler, PA 16001 or the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA.Arrangements are being handled by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
