Butler County Community College student made threats

Butler County Community College police on Monday arrested a student who allegedly made threats against himself and others on social media from the main campus in Butler Township.

BC3 police were notified of the posts at 2:35 p.m. and by 2:50 p.m. had taken the student into custody without incident, the school said in a news release.

No threat remained after the student was placed in custody and the campus remained open for evening classes and activities, the school said.

No other information was released by the school, but Nicholas Neupauer, BC3 president, commended campus police for their swift action.

“Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, I can't comment beyond that. I am very pleased with the way our campus police addressed the matter,” Neupauer said.

Butler Township police were not called to assist the campus police.
