Robert Dale Gallagher

Robert Dale Gallagher, 94, of Prospect died Thursday at the VA Butler Healthcare.

Born in Prospect on Oct. 2, 1923, he was the son of Ralph and Lydia McClymonds Gallagher.

Bob was a heavy equipment operator in road construction and worked for the Local 66 Operating Engineer Union. He also was a school bus driver for the Bryan Bus Co. in Prospect.

He was a Protestant by faith and attended the North Main Street Church of God in Butler.

Bob was a lifelong resident of Prospect and was the last surviving graduate of the former Prospect High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII.

He was a great family man who really appreciated his family, extended family and neighbors. Bob was also an avid baker and gardener.

Survivors include three sons, William (Donna) Gallagher of New Castle, Bruce (Carolyn) Gallagher of Portersville and David (Patty) Gallagher of Lyndora; two daughters, Patti (Paul) Jordon of Apollo Beach, Fla., and Amy Gallagher of Butler; two granddaughters, Calli Jordan Stoker and Kerri Ryan; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Mae Ryan; and a daughter adopted in his heart, Joyce Ballew of Prospect.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Fitzgerald Gallagher, whom he married Aug. 19, 1949, and who died Jan. 30, 2009; his stepmother, Minnie Grossman Gallagher; three sisters; and two brothers.

GALLAGHER — Visitation for friends of Robert Dale Gallagher, who died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the JAY BRYAN FUNERAL HOME, 443 Main St., Prospect, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the North Main Street Church of God in Butler with the Rev. Brandon Lenhart officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Prospect.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Main Street Church of God in Butler.
