Andrew J. Cygan

Andrew J. Cygan, 83, of Butler passed away on Saturday while under the care of the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot.

Born Dec. 12, 1934, in Butler, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna Bachura Cygan.

Andy was a member of St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Church of Lyndora.

He was employed as a custodian for the Butler County Courthouse.

Andy enjoyed bingo. He loved his garage and anything with wheels.

Andy owned his own tow truck and operated 23½ Hour Towing Service.

Andy is survived by his wife, Norma Jeanne Pifer Cygan of Butler; his children, Andy Cygan of Butler, William Cygan of Pittsburgh, Doug (Jenny) Cygan of Butler, Carol (John) Ibarra of Butler, Amy (William) Jackson of Lyndora, and Mark (Millie) Cygan of Lakeland, Fla.; his stepchildren, Donna (Frank) Kowalkowski of Meridian, Susan Steffy of Butler, David (Laura) Burnside of Richmond, Va., Matthew Clair (Audra) Burnside of Lutz, Fla., and Brian K. (Sandra) Burnside of Butler; numerous grandchildren; his sister, Helen (Andrew) Puvak of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael, John and George Cygan; and his sisters, Mary Yurkovich, Catherine Daugherty and Ann Russo.

CYGAN — Family and friends of Andrew J. Cygan, who died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, are welcome to attend a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Highfield Community Center, 229 Highfield Road, Butler.Arrangements have been entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
